The 821LM Universal Garage Door Control is the newest release from Liftmaster. Compatible with most major brands of garage door openers that have photo eyes or safety sensors, the 821LM is set to enable a more mainstream occurrence of wireless garage door monitoring and operation. This retro-fit universal kit contains Wi-Fi and built-in MyQ technology. The 821LM box contains a Wi-Fi hub and a garage door sensor in order to convert an existing garage door opener to the patented MyQ technology to allow wireless connectivity.
You might not have realized it, but garage door openers just got a heck of a lot smarter. As part of the home automation movement, garage door openers now have technology that allows them to be controlled from any internet device from anywhere in the world. The Liftmaster 821LM Universal Garage Door Control has simply revolutionized the ability to control your garage door opener.
Previously, consumers were forced to purchase specific models of garage door openers- such as the Liftmaster 8550- in order to ensure compatibility with the new myQ technology and the accompanied 828LM Liftmaster internet gateway. Then, a wall console (the 888LM) was introduced by Liftmaster in order to convert older models into tech savvy machines. Both of these options are still available, and useful; however the newest product to be released has broadened the horizon for tech lovers everywhere.
With MyQ technology, easy setup, and a free downloadable MyQ mobile app; it appears that the future of garage door openers is truly upon us. There are now at least three different ways to enable your garage door opener to be controlled from your laptop at work, or your iPhone while you’re on vacation.
