Based on a recent initiative of a local Plano church, we decided to donate $500 worth of diapers, baby food, and miscellaneous food and materials to our local North Texas Food Bank. The principle of the message was that giving a little can add up to a lot, and that paying it forward has a butterfly effect on our community.
It’s important to remind ourselves that even though we live in a Metroplex in one of the wealthiest countries, and have one of the highest standards of living of almost anywhere in the world; there is plenty of need right here in our backyard. Children and seniors are particularly in need in our communities, and it really doesn’t take much to make a huge impact.
The North Texas Food Bank has been around for over 30 years, is a top-ranked nonprofit relief organization, and is the largest North Texas charity. We hope that our donations will provide children, as well as other community members with a a little more to help them through the winter. If you’d like to donate, or learn more click here. You can donate $5 online in less than 5 minutes!
